On Tuesday, June 20, some members of the Indigenous People of Biafra visited their leader Nnamdi Kanu at his hometown in Isiama Afara, Umuahia in Abia state.
In photographs obtained by NNN.com, the members who included women were seen throwing their wrappers on the ground for Kanu to walk on.
A member of Kanu's family who spoke to NNN.com on the incident said the women saw the visit as an opportunity to honour Kanu for his his efforts towards the freedom of Biafra.
Sonia said: "The women came here and they insisted he must walk on their wrapper. They were still talking before you know it, they have thrown the wrappers on the floor."
